Maria Graziano started her career at UCI in 1989 as a work-study student who was responsible for updating the marquees scattered across campus. Since then, she’s held a variety of roles on departments across campus, from working as the administrative assistant supervisor in the physics & astronomy department to serving as the chief administrative officer of chemistry. Today, she is assistant dean of the School of Physical Sciences. “The advice that I would give to a person looking to advance within the university is to keep an open dialogue with your supervisor and to take advantage and participate in some of these other organizations that exist [across campus],” she said. Graziano shares how UCI helped shape her career and what she enjoys most about being a member of the Anteater community in a video developed for the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Staff last year.
