Facilities Management and Procurement Services would like to remind employees that all construction, renovations and alterations performed on campus outside of Design & Construction Services require the appropriate construction documents. These services must be coordinated and approved by Facilities Management in advance. UCI campus policies and procedures regarding construction and renovations are available here. Additionally, painting in certain, limited circumstances may be performed via purchase order. Health & Fitness Friday workshop: Triple Trouble

UCI Campus Recreation is proud to announce the continuation of the Health & Fitness Fridays workshop series noon-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the ARC Kitchen/Classroom. Join your co-workers and registered dietitian Diane Basurto for “Triple Trouble,” an informative class where you can learn about fats, sugar and sodium, and ways to reduce your intake. Register through UC Learning Center by searching “Health Fridays.” Attendees will also receive a light lunch.

Free health screenings and flu shots at the UCI campus

Join your UCI co-workers for the free “Know Your Numbers” Health Screening and Flu Shot event. Stop by the Anteater Recreation Center 10 a.m. -2 p.m.  Friday, Nov. 17 for a flu shot and a quick check of your blood pressure, total cholesterol, body fat, BMI, and waist/hip ratio. No registration is needed for the screenings or flu shots. Open to the entire UCI Community while supplies last.

Take the “Maintain, Don’t Gain” challenge

The average American gains 1-5 pounds over the holiday season and usually keeps it. Over time, it can add up! Don’t wait for New Year’s Resolutions. Give yourself the gift of maintaining your pre-holiday weight. Join your UCI colleagues to take the 8-week “Maintain, Don’t Gain” challenge, Monday, Nov. 20 through Friday, Jan. 12. All participants who register for the challenge by Friday, Nov. 17 will receive a challenge starter kit including a reusable lunch bag. Those who participate will have the chance to win prizes and will receive weekly motivation emails with tips and resources to help you manage your weight.

Stop by the Passport Services office to fill out forms and take U.S. passport photos at 19182 Jamboree Rd in Irvine 8:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or the second Saturday of the month from 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Parking is complimentary.
